One of the most upmarket sea side resorts on the Northern Costa Blanca is Altea. Altea is located just over an hour away by car to the north of Alicante Airport which is also the closest airport. One can also choose Valencia Airport to fly into as there are always some cheap Easyjet flights on offer, and this airport is just under two hours away by car, a small price to pay for a shorter cheaper flight. Just make sure you arrive with adequate insurance for Spain in place such as travel insurance in case you get sick.

Altea is a very picturesque resort and its villas are located high up on the hillsides of urbanisations with some spectacular views of the Mediterranean Sea and the neighbouring resorts of Albir and Benidorm to the south.

Altea does have some luxurious two and three bedroom villas to rent in the summer by the week and it is also during the very hot summer months that the resort is at its busiest with tourists coming from all over Northern Europe to enjoy their summer holidays.
